This performance is part of a Flax Exhibition that will be on display at the Harwich Arts & Heritage Centre throughout the duration of the Annual Festival.
A performance where artist Shane Waltener will be processing flax from plant to fibre and spin these into linen thread accompanied by performance artist and musician Merlin Nova. Working with their respective tools and instruments, the performance which is part rehearsed and part improvised celebrates the rhythmic nature and musically of textile making processes and connection with folk song and dance.
The performance, programmed in the context of the Harwich Flax Exchange exhibition at HAHC, will be accompanied by Q+A with the artists.
